What is Super Vampire Killer you ask? It's a fanmade game created by the great Obreck one day, April 15th, 2003 to be exact, he posted his ideas for a "CV Clone" to be done in the fashion of SCV4 and Castlevania Chronicles, and posted his ideas about it. People seemed very interested, mostly me (Trevor Wraith). Obreck released a demo that had SCV4 Simon wandering around in a CV3esque stage, and it was pretty smooth and cool. A lot of people fell in love with it and I instant messaged Obreck RIGHT AWAY and we chatted. From that moment on... I was hired as a level designer for SVK, and my first idea was the Lake Bridge staged. Obreck and I chatted all night over ideas and stuff, and I mean, ALL NIGHT, until like 4 AM. Soon afterwards, our vision for SVK was to make the ultimate CV homebrew, combining all those memorable moments from old CV games, plus new ones. Though our current game maker, ironically titled GAME MAKER limited us, it was pretty easy to make levels and it seemed everything was becoming a reality. The project thrived for awhile and we picked up two more dudes named Rugal and Bit-Blade. Rugal was a level designer back then and Bit-Blade was to be one of our main spriters. Well, Obreck liked to dissapear a lot so yeah... we didn't get much work done after a good few months of starting out. Well this carried on for awhile, but we finally released several demos to the public and many people loved it, especially Rugal's imfamous Aqua Caves stage. Well after awhile Obreck totally dissapeared and we were in total need of someone to take over, and then our savior NEO BELMONT *angel choir* came to the rescue. We couldn't let Obreck's desires die, so we had to continue his legacy (jeez, it's getting all epic now). We eventually got tired of Game Maker and ditched it, and adopted a new source, which we won't tell... hehe. Anyway, things seem to be pretty smooth now, and we can now make a SotN-calibur game, and we recruit Thernody as one of our spriters. That about sums up the history of SVK. THE FUTURE AWAITS! |
