This is a collection of IPS patches for games I have worked on. In order for them to work, you must have a rom of the original game and patch the correct file to it using Lunar IPS or a similar utility. Please do not e-mail me looking for roms. I have put much work into these games, so give them a try and let me know what you think.
This is an overhaul of the original Castlevania done using Stake, Tilelayer Pro
& Hex Workshop. Many changes from the original have been made during the
production of this hack. It took quite a while to complete, but the result was
well worth the effort. All graphics of characters were done by me, bit-blade,
moonchilde & revility. Bit-Blade & I also created the stage's background
graphics and Several changes involving the game's engine were done through
hexadecimal by me. Some of these changes include jumping higher & whip while
walking (which is sort of a mixed blessing.), and the drop item ratio.
Several features were used in Blood Moon that were prominent in the original
Castlevania, but not utilized. For example; the water's splash effect, having to
break a path through the wall to proceed, and bit-blade's unique tile solidity
glitch, and a few booby traps along the way which all make for substantially
more interesting gameplay.
This is a very difficult game, for master vampire killers only. If you happened
upon it by mistake, then run! far far away! wuahaha!
Castlevania : Opposing Bloodlines 2
Free yourself of the curse.
Travel the bloodstained path
to Dracula's castle to save
your soul, or be doomed to a
life of torture and chaos.
The sequel to opposing bloodlines, this is done of Castlevania 2. Though I wasnt
able to edit levels, it's gone over some pretty massive changes. I changed all
characters, enemies, and items while maintaining the CV theme. Also every word
of text has been changed. So ready your skills and prepare to return to
Castlevania.
Big thanks to Morgoth Galaxius, Jorge Fuentes, and UZO for their contributions
to this project.
Castlevania : Opposing Bloodlines
This is a version of the
original CastleVania with Richter Belmont as the main character. You may also
see some familiar
faces along the way, as EVERY sprite in the game except Death and Dracula is
changed to chars from other classic NES games. This is by far one of my favorite
hacks that I've done, so have fun and...
Good luck Vampire Killer!
Castlevania : Skel's Revenge
Dracula's been shorting the checks for his henchmen, and its up to Skel to set
things straight! This game puts you in control of Skel, an angry skeleton knight
who has rebelled against the castle and all those who dwell within it. Levels
1-4 have been drastically altered, as well as many of the characters changed to
ones from other CV's.
Castlevania : Poisonous Offering
A hack by Morgoth Galaxius, this
is a very well crafted and complete level hack. He also has replaced many of the
items with unused ones originally intended for the game, but not used (including
the awesome Red Axe). Any true Vampire Killer will surely be pushed to their
limits when attempting these levels, so be weary of the tricks that have been
set, and use your power-ups only when desprately needed.
Metroid Omega
Celebrating the release of Metroid Prime/Fusion, I created Metroid Omega. Every
graphic of the game is changed thanks to Jorge Fuentes's great artistic skill,
and Brinstar is transformed into an evil deathtrap. Once i finish a few other
projects, the rest of the levels will be made just as evil as it, so have fun
trying to survive!
Metroid 2 DX
Taking the name from the late, great, but sadly unreleased GBC game, Jorge
Fuentes and I have given the original GB rom a graphical update. Samus's normal
suit has a more streamlined look to it, and the Varia gives her the enhanced
justin bailey look. All the powerups/pickups in the game have also been updated,
so give it a try and xpect more GB hacks in the near future.
CV Pinball
Made this mainly for Castlevania fans, but its also a good remake of the game
itself. I always found the physics of this game pretty accurate to that of a
real pinball machine, and the flippers disappear after 100,000 points, which is
definately an added challenge.
Mega Man Alpha
I made this to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the longest running VG series
ever, MMA is a graphics hack that has mostly all character art revamped by the
multi-talented Jorge D. Fuentes. This includes MM, boss chars and enemy
characters. Power-ups and various other things throughout the levels have also
been replaced with ones from more recent MM's. We both put quite a bit of work
into this.
Kid Icarus in NES Land Journey
One of my favorite games as a kid, I knew i was eventually gonna work on this
one. All enemy and item graphics have been taken from other classics, and a new
Kid Icarus has been forged through the help of Jorge Fuentes. All the text in
the game has been changed, like in my GB Icarus hack, and made plenty more
intresting.
Kid Icarus : Journey of a Warrior
My 2nd gameboy hack, I created this because, though I liked the gameplay of this
better than its NES counterpart, the graphics weren't done justice. Thus, all
in-game graphics have been replaced with ones from the NES version. Also, most
text in the game has been changed.
Zelda Kong
This is an idea I came up with out of nowhere that turned into a hack. All of
the mobile sprites are changed to ones from Legend of Zelda, including enemies,
items, and the 3 holders of the Triforce.
Mario's back, and this time he's PISSED! Possessed by a mysterious virus, flocks
of Mario are attacking, and causing mayhem in Nintendo Land! It's up to the
flying shyguy to put an end to this mess once and for all!
